No, it’s not New Years and yes we may or may not be a bit late to the party. Maybe 6.5 months too late, but anyways that’s not the point! The point is that writing down your goals, whether big or small, is something that we’ve been doing for a long while now. It’s not only a good motivator for us, but it helps us look back at the end of the year to see all of the growth and progress that we have (or haven’t) achieved yet. Your goals are not meant to put you down or get in the way. Your goals are meant to motivate, inspire and encourage growth which is something that we constantly strive for. So without further ado, here are our goals for 2022!

Knowledge & Education = Power

In order to continue to grow within your craft and see improvements, it’s imperative that you NEVER STOP LEARNING. Now say it louder for the people in da back! Taking the time to invest in education and learn new skills never gets old and is something we are constantly striving for. Learning from others who’ve become masters within their crafts and seeing different POV’s is essential in our growth here at MM. Not only do we want to learn within the scope of our own work (photography & videography) but from other creatives and outlets as well. Honorable mentions go out to, Fire + Ice, Lauren Ashley Studios, Everlasting Photo and 505 Podcast. We believe that we should never stop learning and growing, and for us that will never ever stop.

If you’re a photographer reading this, you probably have had a list of wedding venues you’ve been DYING to shoot at. Don’t lie… we get you! Finding venues that not only align with us, but fit our creative vision is incredibly important to us. That’s why it’s one of our goals for 2022! Of course you may know us at the ultimate hype duo, husband and wife team but we are so much more than that. We are all for the uniquely different type of venues and are always striving to find our ultimate favorite venues to add to our list. Fostering Relationships within our Community

As business owners, we can admit that it can get a bit lonely from time to time. However, we are so thankful that over the years we have been able to develop long lasting friendships and connections through networking. Connecting with other photographers/videographers and vendors through weddings or styled shoots are just some of the many ways we like to stay connected with others in our community. This year alone we’ve been to Florida and Utah for styled shoots and even had the opportunity of hosting our styled shoot! And guess what? We don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!

Future Plans

Now when it comes to our plans for the remainder of the year, we’ve got some pretty big ones. Aside from our goals that we’ve listed above, here are just a few more of our goals for 2022 that we’ll be working on over here.

Pay Off Our New HRV

This one can be short and sweet. With our jobs, comes a LOT of travel and trust us when we say we LOVE to travel. However, having a reliable car to get us from point A to point B is vital so splurging on a car that we trust was a big milestone for us. While it may seem untraditional to be sharing this goal, as it doesn’t have much to do with photography/videography, we never said we were traditional now did we.

Portfolio Growth in Florida

For those of you who don’t know, we occasionally fly from our home in Chicago to the sunny state of Florida several times a year. The weather is beautiful, the sun is shining and it’s a completely different atmosphere than here in the Midwest (luh you Chicago). We’ve been traveling back and forth and trying to build our portfolio over their in Florida, so that’s another one of our goals for the remainder of 2022. So don’t be afraid to us up next time you need some photographers/videographers in Florida, ya feel?

Upgrade Our Gear

This is no joke ya’ll, photography gear is HELLA expensive. Like a lot of moolah goes into producing the quality work that we give to our clients. With that comes the need every so often to have to upgrade our gear. Trust us though when we say this stuff feels like it never ends! New lenses, computer, new cameras, etc. All of that add up but you know what? Nothing but the BEST when you work with us, that’s our motto.

Work On Reception Lighting

Over the years of capturing weddings, one thing constantly has us stumped. Reception lighting is no joke and it’s our goal to master it! As you know, on wedding days your reception is usually later in the day. With that means less light and less light means more work to get good light. Are you picking up what we’re putting down? That’s where external lighting fixtures come into play. Our goal for 2022 is to make sure that we continue to perfect our reception lighting so that everything is well lit and well… you can actually SEE what’s going on.
