We’re all about making sure our couples feel like their most true authentic selves during their engagement session. For Lisa and Alex, they wanted a blend of those beautiful city vibes while at the same time feeling like themselves. Together we came up with the perfect solution for doing cozy in-home Chicago engagement photos. They really wanted to showcase their daily life and tell their story while still being able to have those beautiful city shots. So of course, we said “why not both” LOL.
First, we started off in their adorable home which overlooked some of the prettiest views of Chicago. We stuck to keeping things a bit more casual and informal since we really wanted to emulate Lisa & Alex’s everyday life. We had them sit on the bed and cuddle, and even have a good ol’ pillow fight. Don’t worry, no couples were harmed in the making of these engagement photos! To add some flare to this in-home session, we did bring along our handy dandy confetti gun to have Lisa & Alex try. I mean, it is a celebration after all!
Shortly after, Lisa and Alex did a quick outfit change to some more formal wear and we took to the city. It was important to Lisa and Alex that we head to some of their favorite spots in the city, along with locations that meant something to their love story. That is so important during engagement sessions, which is why we always encourage our couples to try and choose engagement spots that mean something to their relationship. It makes the storytelling just that much better.
We walked along the Lasalle Street Bridge, and of course had to stop at one of Chicago’s most infamous photo locations, The Chicago Riverwalk. Wandering around the city and really following the dynamics of our couples is how we are able to get the most authentic and candid images. However, don’t worry we will be there to guide you along the way if you’re in need of some help because that’s what we’re here for!
Lastly, we made our way back to Lisa & Alex’s Chicago home to finish off their engagement sesh with sweet treats and of course, pop open a bottle of bubbly. It was, of course, the “wind down” time of their engagement session. We even were able to head onto their balcony where Lisa and Alex ended the night sipping some champagne and enjoying the life that they have built together. It was the perfect way to end their engagement session and we’re obsessed with how everything turned out!
