One thing you should know about us is that we are all for a good time. Not only for us of course, but most important our couples! Especially when it comes time for your wedding day. Aside from taking pretty photos, we are there to ensure you have a good time. It’s almost like getting that happy meal toy from Mcdonald’s, it’s always guaranteed. One thing was true when it came time for Kyle and Katie’s Urban Chicago Wedding at Firehouse Chicago. It was going to be 100% completely and utterly epic.

Kyle & Katie’s Love Story

Kyle and Katie’s love story first began through the connection of a mutual friend. Through the exchanging of numbers and text messages, several days went by until they went on their first date. Did we mention it was a TRIPLE date? It was from that point on that Kyle and Katie began learning more about their common interests and their love story began developing.

Over the years, their love continued to flourish until one day it was time to take it to the next level. THIS IS THE GOOD PART. Eating her favorite sushi, a beer in hand alongside the lake they began talking about their relationship. Despite their being a lot of people walking by constantly, Kyle finally mustered the courage to ask her to marry him. And well, you know how the rest went. Since then, they’ve been planning their DREAM wedding and let’s just say it was completely, totally and undoubtedly… EPIC.

Restored Firehouse Wedding Venue // Firehouse Chicago

Kyle and Katie’s entire wedding day took place at one of our favorite wedding venues, Firehouse Chicago. It’s one of those wedding venues that are unique and one of a kind, which is why it’s a fan favorite amongst a lot of our couples. Restored from an old firehouse, this premier wedding venue is definitely a bucket list location for couples throughout Chicago. It gives off a very rustic and vintage vibe, but still with so much charm. You are greeted with high ceilings, white glazed brick, and a beautiful garden that makes you feel like you’re not even in a firehouse at all. Inside you will also find the original fireman’s pole, which of course you need to slide down when you’re there. It’s a must!

Urban Chicago Wedding at Firehouse Chicago

Kyle and Katie both got ready in the private wedding suites located at Firehouse Chicago. The main priority for them when it came to their wedding photos for the day was really to focus on the candids. Laughing, crying, and keeping things genuine and authentic to them was the way to go. Let’s just say we are absolutely here for it – yasssss. Being able to have two photographers on your wedding day is also an absolute life-saver when it comes time to getting ready photos. We’re able to capture both you and your partner getting ready at the same time which is ultimately a huge time-saver. Moral of the story: always have two photographers on your wedding day, you won’t regret it.

Shortly after finishing getting ready, we went outside to do a first look with Kyle and Katie and it was beyond a beautiful moment. The weather was outstanding this day and we were soaking up every minute of it. We then proceeded onto solo portraits and wedding party photos which have got to be some of our favorites. This is really where we can have fun with your wedding party, do cool poses and really let your personalities shine through!! Don’t believe us? See for yourself. Outdoor Ceremony & Reception

The outdoor ceremony space at Firehouse Chicago is a very intimate setting. It’s shaded and beautiful and really gives you a warm, homey feeling… does that make sense?

Beyond the ceremony, the reception was just as beautiful as the rest of the day. Firehouse Chicago does such an amazing job turning the space for receptions and it really makes it so special for our couples. Making sure to document monumental moments such as cake cuttings, speeches, and first dances is an absolute must for us. We want to make sure that when you look back at your wedding photos you feel every emotion. Every moment is relived through your wedding photos. Especially when you combined that with a professional wedding video? You’ll want to re-live your special day over and over again… trust.
